Established in 1972, the University of Limerick is an internationally focused university with over 10,500 students. The university's mission is to promote and advance learning and knowledge through teaching, research, and scholarship in an environment that encourages innovation and upholds the principle of free inquiry and seCCIS), a partnership of colleges and universities—two and four year, large and small, public and private, domestic and foreign—encompasses the broad spectrum of international higher education. CCIS members sponsor a variety of programs, notably study abroad programs and professional development seminars for faculty and administrators, which are designed to enhance international/intercultural perspectives within the academic community.
